Thank you for your patience in waiting for our decision regarding the 2020 Camp Kooky season. I am reaching out to let you know that after carefully reviewing the Maine CDC guidelines for day camps, the ICC board of trustees and I have reluctantly concluded that we will not be able to offer Camp Kooky this year. This was a difficult and sad decision. Neither the board members nor our camp leaders wanted this to be the outcome, but the Maine CDC guidelines for social distancing and sanitizing simply make it too difficult for us to provide a fun, lively, and interactive camp.
We are deeply sorry that we won’t be hearing the happy sounds of children enjoying themselves in our building this summer, but we hope we can stay connected through our weekly activities, and we look forward to welcoming you back to our beloved Camp Kooky in 2021.

Camp Kooky Director
Jo Sullivan has led Camp Kooky since it started in 2002. She has worked at Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary School for over 22 years where she is loved by the students.
Jo moved to Stonington with her family in 1992 where she raised her children with her husband. Jo cares about Camp Kooky tremendously and is invested in the children who attend each year. She has a first-hand view of what the camp provides the area children. Each camp session Jo shares her love of crafts with the children and seeks out interesting and fun new activities.
Jo has volunteered at the Island Food Pantry for the past 23 years. She enjoys spending time with her husband of 40 years, her children and her eight grandchildren.
